If only the subtitles were darker and easier to see, and if only they were not at the very bottom of the screen so that when I stop the film they are not blocked by the other text and if only they were on the screen longer so that I don't have to try and speed read them, they always disappear before I'm finished reading....

The prices at this store were actually quite reasonable for an island nation, except of course the meats. You really overpay for food at restaurants.

I lived in the room across the hall for a year in 1995, looks like 601a on the exit map. It was pretty much deserted then as they were moving people out through attrition. Near the end of the year it was just me and one other person (Chuck B.) on the whole floor. Looks much nicer now. Used to have just one large, common bathroom near the middle of this floor, where the kitchen is now. I remember having to vacuum the hallway floors every week even though I was pretty much the only one who walked on them. The carpet was worn threadbare, too.

Seeing the price of chicken and pork in Iceland makes me realize that our food is incredibly cheap. I can get pork chops for 99 cents a pound just about any day of the week, and chicken parts average about $1.89 per pound. I guess I'll be quiet about food prices.
